Donald Trump was presented a bipartisan deal that would partially fund a barrier on the southern border, which is what he asked for. But he doesn’t seem to be so thrilled about it.
On Tuesday, he was asked what he thought about the deal drafter to fund the government. Trump admitted that he didn’t study it and then claimed he wasn’t pleased with it.
“I have to study it. I’m not happy about it. It’s not doing the trick, but I’m adding things to it,” Trump said.
“I will add whatever I have to add. It’s all going to happen. We are going to build a beautiful, big, strong wall that’s not going to let criminals and traffickers and drug dealers and drugs get into our country. It’s very simple. We are building a wall.”
The bill, which was drafted by a bipartisan group, would include funds for a border fence but not a wall.
When asked about another possible government shutdown, Trump said that if it happened it would be the Democrats fault.
