Donald Trump’s popularity among Republicans is quickly dipping and this isn’t good news for him. On Thursday, another Republican lawmaker announced that he will no longer be supporting the president after green-lighting a Turkish military operation targeting the Kurds in Syria.
Trump’s act shocked top military brass, who viewed the decision as a betrayal of the Kurds, who’d fought ISIS alongside U.S. troops.
Outgoing Illinois Congressman John Shimkus expressed his anger towards Trump and announced that he can no longer support the president. Shimkus called Trump’s decision “terrible and despicable,” according to KMOX.
He further said the he’s “shocked, angered and embarrassed.”
